Well, once again it’s time for those crazy Sims to make fun & merriment! That’s right, the kids at Aspyr Media have shipped House Party, yet another expansion pack for The Sims. In House Party, throwing a rockin’ bash has never been easier or more funky. With over 100 new party related items, House Party should keep your Sims drunk and freaky. However, are these parties and new items worth the price of admission, or are they full of empty glitz like so many Liberace concerts? There is but one way to find out… Read on, the truth is out there! Yeah, I know, X-Files is kind of out, but I just don’t care.I Wanna’ Party Like it’s 1999! Have you ever heard the phrase “let’s get busy”? Well, the Sims: House Party is one expansion pack that gets bizzay, consistently and thoroughly. Some may ask, so, it’s proactive? Oh God, yes! We’re talking a totally outrageous paradigm here! House Party is all about large groups of Sims interacting with one & other in various party settings. There are 3 major theme party motifs in House Party, the Hoedown, Luau and Rave. Each theme party offers interesting and often times, hilarious ways for Sims to get their freak on. Hoedown: Complete with bails of hay, cow print furniture and a mechanical bull, the Hoedown is perfect for any country lovin’ Sim. At a Hoedown, Sims get to dance to the latest country tunes and take turns trying to outride each other on the bucking mechanical bull. The mechanical bull is absolutely hysterical. After it springs to life, the occupying Sim must hang on for dear life in true cowboy form, lest they wish to be bucked to the hard floor below. Of course, I love watching Sims getting tossed around the room, thus I always make them ride on the most difficult setting. YEE-HAW, RIDE’EM COWSIM! Luau: Feeling lazy and in the mood to relax with friends? Have a backyard Luau! A Luau is the perfect place for a hardworking Sim to unwind, take a dip in the pool and listen to Don Ho sing Tiny Bubbles. Speaking of tiny bubbles, for some added fun, bring out a giant bubble-blowing machine and fill the air with kooky soap spheres. The Luau motif is also complete with various Hawaiian decorations such as, Hawaiian statues and torches. It’s good to see those Sims get out of the house and do some interacting in the cheap showiness of nature. I personally enjoy the bubble machine; it creates a fun party atmosphere. Rave: There’s nothing like a good Rave to get those Sims in the mood for some major boogying down. Complete with a dance floor and go-go cages, a Rave is the best place for Sims to shake their groove thang. It’s even possible to roll in a DJ table and allow a Sim to regale his or friends with mad record scratching skills. As we all know from the latest Gap commercials, girls love guys who scratch. The motif also features wild techno lighting, funky inflatable furniture and appropriate wall décor. I absolutely LOVE throwing a Rave! You haven’t lived until you’ve seen various Sims strut their stuff inside of a go-go cage; it’s truly an enchanting sight to behold. The DJ table is also quite cool; it provides an excellent source of entertainment for dancing Sims. So, what to wear to these get togethers? That’s easy, just check out the “Costume Trunk”! The Costume Trunk is full of any outfit for every occasion. Simply select the style of clothing you wish your Sims to wear, from “Club” to “Luau” and presto, they’re dressed to rock & roll all night. There are even costumes for masquerade balls or Halloween fright nights.
