Fall in line
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault won a number of PC awards upon release, which is why I feel it's okay to 'gush' a bit even in a preview. There is a whole lot for the action fan to look forward to. Beyond the excellent singleplayer is a whole world of multiplayer options and team modes to explore. The multiplayer is based of course on the superb Quake 3 networking code, which means there will be tons of PC servers and friends to hack on (as well as other Mac gamers).

The Mac version of Medal of Honor has been done in record time by Westlake Interactive, with Duane Johnson at the helm of the port. Aspyr announced the game as going Final Candidate a few days ago, which means it could be just a few shorts weeks (pending approvals) before the game hits stores.

The current Mac version plays with nary a hitch. The system requirements almost exactly mirror those of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, so owners of that title should have a good idea about how Medal of Honor will play. According to Aspyr, the game needs a baseline 500MHz G3 with 128MB RAM and at least a Radeon or Geforce 2 MX video card. Older cards may work, but your milage may vary as you'll have to turn down the eye candy to keep it playable. It will also support either OS 9.2 or OS X 10.1 out of the box.

Stay tuned to IMG for the latest news on the status of Medal of Honor, as well as a full review after the game's release.
