Survivor: The Interactive Game November 21, 2001 | Tuncer Deniz | |
When three minutes are up, it’s time to move onto the next stage, Reward Challenge. This is where the game starts to get interesting and allows you to take more direct control of your character (and the outcome of the game). Like the real show, Reward Challenges are either physical or mental games that you must win to earn the reward. After the Reward Challenge, it’s time to head back to camp and start another survival period. With Tribal Council coming up, it’s important to interact with your fellow tribe members. Once again, the survival period lasts three minutes and it’s on to the Immunity Challenge. Immunity Challenge is similar to the Reward Challenge in that you have to win a physical or mental game to win the challenge. If you win immunity, then your team won’t have to go to Tribal Council that night. Lose and you risk getting voted off Survivor. If you lose the Immunity Challenge, then it’s off to Tribal Council. Here you’ll vote against one tribe member as will the others. The person with the most votes gets kicked off Survivor, just as in the real show. Overall there are 13 episodes to play through although if you’re pressed for time you can play a half or short-session game. Outlast One of the more interesting aspects of Survivor: The Interactive Game is the multiplayer game where up to 6 people can play over LAN or Internet. When a multiplayer game begins, it’s after the merge, with all survivors on the same tribe. During the Survival Period, a chat window is present that allows you to talk with other human players, either as a group or privately.Challenges will earn you points towards immunity, no immunity itself. Right before Tribal Council, all the players will be able to chat for a final time and will see the points earned by each player for that episode. The survivor with the most points automatically wins immunity for that Tribal Council. OutMac Survivor: The Interactive Game has just gone golden master for the Macintosh and will be published by MacSoft. The game carries modest requirements such as MacOS 8.6 or higher, a 350 Mhz G3 or faster, 64 MB of RAM, and a Rage 128 or better. If you’re a fan of the Survivor TV show and have been itching to kick of Kel or Jerri, or see if you’re up to the challenges, then Survivor: The Interactive Game may just be the game for you. Look for it in stores in about two weeks. Now head back to camp, I’ll see you tomorrow.
