Publisher Freeverse and developer Strange Flavour today announced that their latest game, Airburst Extreme, has gone golden master. In addition, a playable demo which lets you and up to 3 friends play 2 of the game’s 32 different game types either on the same Mac or over a Local Area Network (LAN).

Here's more from the official press release:

The full Airburst Extreme game has 32 different game types, introduced by an interactive Story game in which you meet the different characters in the Airburst universe and fly around the solar system playing Airburst games, using your new Extreme powers and foiling the plans of the somewhat dodgy Mars Media Mega Corporation.

Ian Lynch Smith, President of Freeverse has said, "Airburst Extreme is the best kind of sequel. It takes everything that was awesome about the original Airburst and amplifies it a hundred fold. This is a super game, and even better, its only for the Mac!"

Airburst Extreme features spectacular rendered OpenGL graphics, literally billions of levels and a soundtrack from Abdoujaparov, Freekstar and Jaffa Mountain. It will retail for $29.95 and can be found at the Apple Stores and other fine Mac shops.

To download the demo, head over to the official Airburst Extreme web site.
