Gish Coming to OS X 8:16 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
ChronicLogic recently released a unique new arcade-style game called Gish for the PC. Featuring a blob-like protagonist which interacts with the environments with surprisingly realistic physics, IMG has also confirmed Gish should be on its way to OS X shortly. While the Gish site mentions an OS X version, we confirmed recently with developer/designer Josiah Pisciotta that they hope to have a Mac download ready within a month or so (though Pisciotta expects it might only take a few weeks). Gish was a finalist in the 2004 Independent Games Festival, here are a few features: - Dynamic Physics and Real-time Lighting
- Destructible environment
- Over 30 Story levels
- Over 20 Collection levels
- 3 unique VS. mode levels
- Many hidden "secrets"
- Over 10 different types of Enemies
- Several "Super Secret" Levels
For a true understanding of what Gish is all about, check out the gameplay trailer available at their site. Screenshots are also available for those on more limited bandwidth, though it's tough to describe the game's physics, even with still images. Stay tuned to IMG for the more information as Gish's OS X client gets closer towards release.
