Feral Friday Part Two - Updates Five Games, Input Calibrator

Fresh on the heels of the news this morning that British game publishing powerhouse Feral Interactive has updated their popular third person platformer Rayman 3, IMG has received further news from the brits that they have also released patches for four other of their games, a new utility, and a trailer for the upcoming title XIII.

First off, Feral has released an application called Input Calibrator, a new utility which provides greater control over your Mac's input devices. Up to now, Mac OS X has not provided users with any method of calibrating game devices, leaving players yearning for the days of OS 9's now-instinct Input Sprockets. With Feral's new stand-alone utility, however, gamers can calibrate their joysticks, gamepads, steering wheels, and the like, by manually setting the upper, lower, and middle points to their input devices. The utility then saves the settings in a global data file that any game supporting the file format can read. The application is included in the updates for Rayman 3 and Total Immersion Racing.

As reported earlier this morning, the Rayman 3 patch addresses the short game freezes some players have reported, as well as updating the game's Library Code, and adding support for Feral's Input Calibrator. The Total Immersion Racing patch, apart from adding support for the input devices utility, also addresses a number of minor graphical and sound issues. The patches for Ghost Master, Warrior Kings and F1 Championship Season 2000 address a number of graphical and input device issues, and fix a number of minor performance issues in each of the games. Patches for all the games are available at IMG sister site MacGameFiles - click on the links below.

And finally, Feral has posted a new trailer for their upcoming first person shooter XIII. The two-minute movie, which features gameplay from the game's Brighton Beach level, showcases the game's heavy action and heavily-stylised, cartoon-based look. The movie, which weighs in at just over eight megs, is available from the Feral website.
