MacPlay today announced that it has begun shipping the World War II strategy game, Hearts of Iron, and the 3D strategy/programming game, MindRover. The games mark the two next releases in the company's distribution agreement with Virtual Programming.

Here's more from the official PR:

"For the past few weeks, we've been staging our own robot contests in one area of the office and World War II recreations at the other end, said Henry Price, Director of Sales and Marketing of MacPlay. "We're looking forward to introducing Mac owners to these fantastic titles."

"That's why we picked these titles for publication on the Mac," added Paul Lesurf, Director of Virtual Programming. "Each game presents fascinating scenarios that take place on never-before-seen worlds."

Hearts of Iron is set in an alternate reality where players shape the course of mid-20th century history. Staring in the year 1936, players select a country whose technology and military they build over the next 10 years as they wage wars on fronts never seen during World War II. Players can even develop super-weapons as they inexorably shift the world's power structure and permanently affect the struggle between Fascism, Communism, and Democracy.

Gamers who prefer extra-terrestrial action will enjoy MindRover, which takes place on Jupiter's icy Europa moon. Players build robotic "rovers" with parts found in a research lab and program the machines for a variety of behaviors. They then pit their creations against each other in one of four types of competitions: races, sports, battles, and puzzles. MindRover's advanced physics system determines the realistic outcomes when the robots clash.

For more information on these two titles, head over to the MacPlay web site.

The MSRP for each game is $19.99. Hearts of Iron and MindRover can be purchased from leading retailers or directly from the MacPlay store, located at http://www.macplay.com/store.
