Savage Coming to Mac OS X 6:00 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
A recent post to the S2 Games messageboards reveals the developers of Savage: The Battle for Newerth have their new strategy shooter up and running under Mac OS X. The title, which was just released in mid-September, is a blend of a real-time strategy game with a first-person shooter. Here's what S2 Games' member Sam McGrath had to say about the porting effort so far: Mac G4, received from apple:Monday afternoon Mac port completed: Wednesday, 11:30am Companies that say porting to Mac is hard don't know how to write good code. A more in-depth description of the gameplay is on the Savage site:As the commander in RTS mode, you will tackle resource management, develop a robust tech tree, plan your assault and lead real human players into battle. As a warrior in action mode, you will master many unique weapons, powerful units, and siege vehicles to fight a fast paced battle. At the moment there is no word on how a Mac port of Savage might be published or distributed, so stay tuned for much more on the game in the future from IMG. For now, check out the S2 Games website for details on this exciting title.
