IMG Reviews Logitech Z-340 Speakers 2:05 PM | Lucian Fong | Comment on this story
Logitech has built up an impressive speaker lineup over the past few years. For the gamer whose budget is restricted to less than $100, they can choose from the Z-340 (2.1), Z-540 (4.1), and Z-640 (5.1). Moving up one tier gives you the 400 watt, THX-certified, Z-560 4.1 system. Logitech's latest and greatest system is the Z-680, which you can have for a cool $400 (twice the price of the Z-560). Today, Logitech's most humble speakers, the Z-340, will be put under the microscope. Here is an excerpt from the review: I was surprised at the responsiveness of the speakers to the Japanese pop (Utada Hikaru) and rock music (U2, Live, The Cure) I played. For instance, while listening to Utada Hikaru the midrange and high end are fairly clear and crisp, which was accentuated by electric guitars and violins or a high pitch note held by the female performer. At higher volumes, these notes can be almost piercing, but the details in some recordings were lost due to the single small driver. For more information on the Z-340, read the rest of the review.
