KickOff 2002 Ships 8:19 AM | Tristan Kane | Comment on this story
Virtual Programming, the folks who brought us Wipeout 2097, have just released KickOff 2002. for the Mac. One of the great injustices committed against Mac gamers over the years has been the lack of football (aka soccer) sims. While the Championship Manager series has seen three versions over the past few seasons, you need to go back to 1998 and Actua Soccer for the last time an action football game was released. This is in stark contrast to the proliferation of these titles on the PC and the consoles in the same period. Kickoff is a unique style of football sim, basically along the lines of the well known EA Sports FIFA series, but with a particularly unusual control method. Here is their spiel: One of the most successful selling football games of all time makes it to the Mac for the very first time, with a whole new look and feel. The "Kick Off" brand has sold nearly 3.5 million units world-wide over the past 12 years and now for the first time ever Mac owners, whether old or young, can experience a totally different and fun packed experience in football gaming. What makes "Kick Off" so exciting is that it will be by far the fastest football game available to play. It throws the player head first into the pace and excitement of international soccer with a sprinkle of humour. "Kick Off" will stand out amongst other football games because of it unusual control system and playing mode. This is a truly momentous event for Mac-owning football fans. The game can be ordered through Virtual Programming, to do this or for more information on this title please use the links below. Also look for the game to be distributed in North America by Freeverse.
