MWSF: Destineer on Links, Halo, & More 6:00 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
Inside Mac Games talked with Destineer's Peter Tamte about some of their upcoming games at Macworld Expo yesterday. Having shipped the widly popular Age of Empires II on their Bold label in November, the company has been concentrating on finishing up Links Championship Edition. According to Tamte, the company had hoped to ship the game in 2001, but progress on the port did not go as expected. However, Tamte went on to say that Links should be shipping within the next few weeks. Tamte also gave us short updates on some other games they are working on. Flight Simulator 2002 for the Macintosh is still on the way, but he couldn't offer any time frame. As for Halo, Tamte confirmed what Microsoft has been saying: Halo will come to the Mac. Other than that, no details were forthcoming—including whether Bold will publish it. Tamte did say, however, to expect new announcements in the coming weeks. Keep your fingers crossed, because more Destineer games could be coming to a Macintosh near you.
