Mac Red Faction 1.20 Patch Soon

Volition recently released a patch for the PC version of Red Faction, making some minor fixes to the first-person shooter set on Mars. Apparently there was a small bug in the code that let some less scrupulous players run cheats without telling anyone else. Version 1.20 puts a stop to this by being able to detect any mod-like changes made to the game. While their Web site notes the Mac version of the patch should be out "soon," we went to GraphSim, the Mac publishers, for clarification. We asked their president, Jeff Morgan, if this patch would be rolled into the upcoming Mac OS X release that IMG reported earlier in the week. Here's what he had to say: It is already being rolled into the OS X patch which we anticipate will be
ready next week. This is great news for Mac Red Faction fans who are hankering to play under Mac OS X. GraphSim recently told IMG they had overcome a number of slowdowns under OS X and are getting very near to having something ready for gamers to download.
