Mac Myth III is Gold; Demo Released 6:00 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
As IMG reported yesterday, Myth III developer MumboJumbo said it would release today a combined single-player and multi-player demo of the Mac version of Myth III: The Wolf Age, which went gold yesterday. The company had since released an updated PC demo along with the long-awaited PC patch to version 1.02, which fixes a host of bugs in the original game. The Mac version should include these fixes out of the box. For more details on what problems Mac users won't have to worry about, check out the long list of changes on MumboJumbo's site. MumboJumbo also released a PC version of Vengeance, the Myth III editor. While the unsupported map-making program was originally planned for the Mac as well, MacSoft, the publisher of the Mac version, has let us know it is now very out of date. Unfortunately, resource restrictions made it impossible to keep things up to speed on both platforms. The good news is that the program's full source code has been released as well, so any entrepreneurial Mac programmer can try to pick up where MumboJumbo left off. Update: The Myth III Demo for the Mac is available now at our sister site, MacGameFiles. Go, go!
