Coldstone Nears Completion 9:25 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
Coldstone, a stand-alone RPG creation engine, is drawing ever closer to completion. Currently in development by Beenox Studio and Ambrosia Software, Coldstone promises to be a cross-platform application with features such as a real-time battle engine, a map engine with multiple layer rendering, and advanced script editing.
An earlier note on the Coldstone progress log noted that version B5 had been released, and that all there was really left to do was some interface polishing and a manual update. The latest log reveals that the interface polishing has been finished, and that both Mac and Windows compilers reached Final Candidate status a week ago. The manual and the tutorial have also been updated.
RPG gamers itching to get their hands on a competent creation engine may not have to wait much longer. For those who wish to see a practical example of the Coldstone engine in action, Ambrosia is currently offering Pillars of Garendall. For more information, be sure to check out both Beenox Studio's and Ambrosia's web sites.
