Sacrifice Reaches Beta 11:49 AM | Sean Smith | Comment on this story
One week after announcing that Sacrifice would ship to distribution on December 7, MacPlay have announced that the game has reached beta.
Here are some details on the game from MacPlay's press release:
Sacrifice provides a truly fresh approach in the 3D RTS genre, allowing players to act as both commander and combatant over huge, real-time generated landscapes in single or multiplayer modes. Sacrifice serves up over 50 of the most fantastic creatures ever seen in interactive combat scenarios and offers versatile and imaginative spells that can be cast throughout the course of the game. The Windows version of Sacrifice received ratings of 9 out of 10 from Happy Puppy, as well as 4.5 out of 5 from PC Arena and 9.5 out of 10 from ign.pc.com. According to Apple.com, “The Stunning visuals and all-out action should keep you glued to your Mac.”
Boasting an impressive line-up of voice talent, Sacrifice features Tim Curry ("Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York"), who plays Stratos, God of Air; Brad Garrett ("Everybody Loves Raymond") as James, God of Earth; and Tony Jay ("Beauty and the Beast," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame") as Mithras the Sage. The rich musical score was composed and orchestrated by established film and game composer Kevin Manthei, whose recent work includes "Scream 3" and "Buffy The Vampire Slayer."
Developed by Shiny Entertainment, the team that has produced such highly acclaimed hits as Earthworm Jim, MDK, and Messiah, and converted to the Macintosh by MumboJumbo, developers of the recently released Myth III, Sacrifice opens up an entirely new experience for gamers.
