IMG Reviews The Book Of Unwritten Tales 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 3 comments
Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Nordic Games' The Book of Unwritten Tales Deluxe Edition. The humorous point and click homage to the fantasy RPG genre features 20 hours of gameplay, multiple heroes with unique skills, and over 150 mind boggling puzzles to solve. Here's an excerpt: To tie pieces of the story together, there are also several video sequences. The sequences are well done, and often very entertaining. And, like with a good novel, you the player learn more of what is going on than do the characters in the story. However, even though you are controlling the characters, there is nothing you can do to warn them. Again, like a good book!I found references to many popular sci-fi and fantasy stories, as well as a few pokes at videos and even the older paper and dice D&D games. I am sure there were several that I missed. It is all done in a tasteful, “tongue-in-cheek” manner and just adds to the overall enjoyment of the game. Some are subtle, such as those that occur as the game loads, others blatant, as with a nod to Star Wars, or the complaint about MMOs never listening to their players. Read more at the link below.
