Bejeweled 3 Reviewed 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Ironhammers has posted a new review of PopCap Games' recently released Bejeweled 3 gem matching sequel. The game features eight game modes, 65 achievement badges to collect, a variety of new powerups to discover, and improved graphics. Ironhammers gave the game a score of 4.5 out of 5. From the review: However, merely improving the looks of this game cannot necessarily warrant a purchase — the gameplay can, though, it’s been tweaked to the max. Swapping gems feels far smoother than in any previous iterations, and you can move the gems regardless of what’s going on elsewhere on the board — you don’t have to wait for a move to finish before making the next one, and that feels mighty helpful when your going up against the clock. Besides that, you’ve got new power-up gems to play with, as well as a bunch of new game modes — some of which require unlocking by completing other in-game tasks. Poker mode sees you carefully planning your moves in order to make the best hand, while Lightning mode is a much more hurried game type where you’ve got 60 seconds to score as highly as possible — though it’s a shame there’s no online leaderboards to compare with your friends. It’s an option we have come to expect, and with so many game modes being high-score based I really thought it would of been in there. View the full review at the link below.
