IMG Reviews GameTap 7:04 AM | Marcus Albers | Comment on this story
Inside Mac Games has posted a review of the GameTap service now available for Intel-based Macs. Here's a clip from the review: Since these games were developed years ago, you won’t be amazed by the reality of the graphics. The graphics will only be as nice as they were back in the old days. With some of the games I tried, I was a bit surprised at the age of the version available. For instance, I decided to try a game of Shanghai by Activision. The box image that comes up is the nice color one I remembered from playing on my Apple ][GS. The game that loads predates that version, being a monochromatic version I didn’t even know existed! (Game information says it is the Commodore 64 version from 1986). Be sure to read the game platform and date of release so that you have some idea of the version you are playing. Also remember that graphics aren’t everything, this monotone game of Shanghai played just as well as any color version. Follow the link below to read the full review.
