To follow yesterday's Baldur's Gate II screen shots, Mac Baldur has posted screen shots from the BG-based title Icewind Dale today. If you haven't seen this game in action, you're in for a treat. Icewind Dale will look very familiar to Baldur fans, since it is based on the same Infinity Engine, but the game has a decidedly different atmosphere than the original game. IWD's atmosphere has a very cold and dark edge to it, giving its high-adventure gameplay a deathly air. The other change you'll notice from the original is that monsters in IWD can be gargantuan in size-- you have to see the giants to believe them! MacPlay (a division of United Developers) will release Icewind Dale in early 2001 for the Macintosh.
