Lionhead Studios is working on a PC expansion for The Movies, the Sim style game in which players must chart a successful path for their own movie studio. The expansion, currently under the working title Stunts & Effects, will expand the movie making tools available to gamers. Emphasizing action, S&S will include a wide variety of new visual effects and set pieces as well as refinements to allow longer movies.

Alongside new effects like lasers, water effects, smoke and electrical charges, you'll have the power to direct your jaw-dropping set-pieces - with examples like the ability to fire cars off bridges, causing them to burst into flames given. Of course, to achieve these magical movie moments, you'll need to hire top-class stuntmen to do your bidding - maybe even snagging a stunt award in the process.

On top of all this, Stunts & Effects apparently contains new sets including a bustling city and military barracks, alongside special miniature sets enabling much fancier, more epic camera work than is normally possible. You can even employ model helicopters, spaceships and other objects for impressively choreographed sequences against greenscreen - letting you slip your own backdrops in once the action's been finalised.
