Preview of Fable: The Lost Chapters Posted 8:52 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Another preview has been released for the upcoming Lionhead Studios game, Fable: The Lost Chapters. This time 1UP.com takes a look at the stand alone expansion for the original XBox exclusive Fable. The preview discusses the hype surrounding the original game and the well implemented change from controller to keyboard and mouse control in F:TLC. What we didn't expect was how well the controls have been adapted to the mouse and keyboard setup. There are quite a few buttons in use, but the layout is intuitive, and it quickly makes the Xbox controller feel lacking for buttons. Spellcasters will particularly appreciate being able to unleash spells from either mouse button, and quickly swapping these pairs with the mouse wheel. Numerical hot keys, like you'd use to change weapons in a first-person shooter, make it much easier to take advantage of the various expressions. Not that there aren't drawbacks -- the WASD movement isn't quite the equal of the analog sticks on a controller -- but the tradeoff seems to lean in the PC's favor. The PC version of F:TLC is scheduled for release in November. The Mac version is on its way from the good folks at Feral Interactive. For the entire preview follow the link below.
