Aspyr today announced that Lego Star Wars: The Video Game for the Mac has gone beta. The game, which is licensed from LucasArts and is being ported to the Mac by i5works, is currently scheduled to ship in August. For the first time ever, one of the world’s most successful film series meets one of the world’s favorite toys in an epic new video game.LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game features a game world and characters built from virtual LEGO blocks that allows gamers to play through the whole story of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Gamers can play as more than 40 of their favorite Star Wars characters through more than 18 levels, experiencing the entire storyline of the first three movies in the Star Wars saga with plenty of action, puzzles, and unique Star Wars humor. Additionally, players can enjoy a two-player cooperative play mode that lets a second player drop in and out of the action without interrupting gameplay. The game is rated “E” for “Everyone” by the ESRB and is available for pre-order from Macgamestore.com for $29.95.
