MacSoft Announces Tropico 2 6:00 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
MacSoft has announced that it will be publishing the Mac version of Tropico 2: Pirate Cove. The sequel to the best-selling Caribbean simulation Tropico title will be on shelves May 19th. The conversion to the Macinotsh was done by porting house Westlake Interactive. Tropico 2: Pirate Cove takes the player into the world of a hidden pirate island. Players will take the role of a pirate who will have to use artful deception to manage their island empire and protect their bounty from the likes of the French, English and Spanish fleets. Here's more from the press release: Players will also have to plunder merchants on the high seas for materials and take prisoners back to the island as captive workers. See how your sea legs hold up through 100 years of challenge while making your pirate the richest in history! New features included in Tropico 2: Pirate Cove open the high-seas to even greater adventures. As Pirate King, you’ll have to construct and outfit massive galleons and equip your sea dogs to strike fear into the merchants and traders on the high seas. Reward your buccaneers with personal mansions and collect taxes on their estates to build the ultimate pirate island. As your fame is established, history’s most notorious pirates will be lured to your secret isle to enjoy all the feasting, gambling, drinking, and wenching you can muster. Al Schilling, General Manager of MacSoft says “Tropico 2: Pirate Cove offers hours of fun for both the hard-core and casual sim player. Tropico 2 will make you wrack your brain and have a blast doing it.” Macgamestore.com is currently taking pre-order for the game for $29.95. The game is expected to ship on May 19th.
