Sims 2 Bloopers & Blunders Exposed 7:51 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story
In the final installment of multi-platform gaming website Gamespot's The Sims 2 Designer Diary, Maxis' Lucy Bradshaw, vice-president of PC development, offers up to the public a side of game development that is rarely seen outside of design studios: a collection of humorous out-takes and bloopers that popped up during the game's creation. The mini-library of stills and movies captured by the game developers demonstrate the one constant true of all game development, regardless of the game's budget size or design tools: bugs happen. And while readers can chuckle over the strange happenings or mistakes made during the game's creation, readers must remember that all the bugs shown here have long been pulled from the project, and the footage presented for the article is not representative of the final shipping product. The PC version of the long-awaited game, which reached Gold Master early last week, is currently in the duplication process, with the goal of being available to the public by September 14th. And while there hasn't been an official announcement from the game developers, publishers Electronic Arts, or Aspyr Media on whether we can expect a Mac version of the game, Maxis General Manager Neil Young let it slip recently that a Mac port of the title is in the works. As usual, keep checking back with IMG as we'll keep you informed of further news on the new title as it becomes available.
