Freeverse Software and e.p.i.c. Interactive have combined forces to bring the cartoon-style RTS Northland to Mac gamers in North America. Freeverse published final system requirements for the the title, as well as re-releasing the demo to give people a chance to see if this game based in the realm of Norse fantasy is to their liking.

Northland was created by the German company Funatics Software and is the lastest in a series of RTS titles called Cultures. Here's more from Freeverse's press release:

Northland challenges players to take control of a group of Vikings, and develop their town while meeting the needs of the individuals in your groups. Unlike other real-time strategy games, each character in the village has a name. Players can leave the Vikings to fulfill their own desires, or micromanage them into jobs and marriages. By developing a village, the Vikings can mount an offensive against the minions of Loki.

"Northland brings new life to the Mac RTS scene," Said Colin Lynch Smith, Freeverse Vice President. "We were drawn to this game's unique approach to the genre, which is why Freeverse had to bring it to North American Macintosh gamers."

Minimum system requirements are:
Mac OS 9.x / 10.x
G3 350 Mhz
192 MB RAM

Recommended system requirements are:
Mac OS 10.2.x or better
G4 700 MHz
256 MB RAM

To give Northland a try, head over and download the demo now. Freeverse sells the title for $30 at their online store.
