The Sims 2 Impressions 12:20 PM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
After countless expansion packs, the game that the public just can't seem to get enough of is getting a sequel. Dubbed The Sims 2, this upcoming title appears to be expanding greatly upon the themes that made the original so popular, including closer management of the Sims themselves. Gaming site GameMarshal has posted impressions of the closed door preview they received, noting the expanded abilities and AI of the Sims: As the party continued, the two boys that were playing video games disagreed on something and got into a fight. We saw all of the teenagers run towards the fight and get into a circle to watch. At the same moment, mom and dad got home and were not too happy to find a huge party and a fight happening in their house. They started yelling, and kicked everyone out. The mother then went and picked up the baby, while dad started to lecture the daughter, who was too embarrassed and went up to her room. The Sims 2 will include Sims that players can manage from birth until death, complete with a variety of facial expressions and mannerisms. Those who produce children will even pass their genetic traits down to their offspring. The rest of the preview covers other behavioral senarios as well as further features of the Sims themselves.
