Fantasoft has released the latest version of their shareware RPG Realmz. Realmz is a 2D RPG that features turn-based combat and open-ended gameplay. The whole look of the game harkens back to games such as Ultima and Wizardry. Included with Realmz are a character editor and a scenario editor. Here's a description of Realmz from MacGameFiles: Realmz is a fantasy role-playing game with an extensive world to explore. Play several characters as they travel about the realm, looking for adventure in whatever awaits them.Some of the scenarios for Realmz have clear objectives, but in the introductory "The City of Bywater" there is no underlying goal for its completion. You are a group of adventurers who have arrived in the city of Bywater with a small amount of money and a great desire for adventure. The story line is fairly loose, so you can pretty much go wherever you like, whenever you like. Some people will like this better than strictly linear games that guide you along a path. Finish X, so you can try Y, to get to Z. What happens if X is boring, or you can't figure it out? You would be stuck in that case. Never fear!
