Medal of Honor Expansion Pack: Q&A Session

Announced a few weeks ago, the currently untitled expansion pack to Medal of Honor: Allied Assault has received huge speculation, and today, more information has been revealed. Computer and Video has posted an exclusive interview with the guys at Electronic Arts, in high hopes of learning more about the upcoming expansion.

The main conversation between European product manager James McDermott and CVG consists of more information regarding the new singe-player campaign the expansion will include:

Could you just give us a brief overview of what we'll be doing in the expansion, who we'll be playing and what our objectives are?

McDermott: Players will assume the role of Sgt. Jack Barnes as he endures the final months of World War II, from Operation Overlord to the Battle of the Bulge and culminating with the fall of Berlin. The Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Expansion Pack combines nine expansive single-player levels with over 12 new multiplayer maps and includes new locations, new weapons, and new soldiers.

However, MacDermott also reveals some new elements included in the multiplayer aspect of the expansion, featuring a new game mode, dubbed "Tug of War":Moving over to multiplayer, the Tug of War mode sounds interesting. Could you just go over what players will be doing in this mode?

McDermott: Enhanced objective-based play, in my opinion, will be the highlight of the multiplayer game experience. Dubbed "Tug of War", these maps will have a variety of objectives that each side must complete in order to win. The TOW gameplay will develop from the teams constantly having to fight each other back and forth over these objectives. The first side to have all five objectives completed at once will win the round. Our goal is to have maps that have many choke points where battles will be fought as opposed to just one or two.

Another important feature we're adding with TOW mode involves re-spawning. Each map will have something at either end that can be destroyed to stop one team from being able to re-spawn (i.e. a transport truck). This will add immensely to the gameplay as each side will not only be trying desperately to stop the enemy from being able to re-spawn, but they will have a vested interested in protecting their own spawn area.Check out the full interview for more information.
