Master of Orion 3 Delays Explained 8:16 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
Recently the Master of Orion III web site was updated with word from developer Quicksilver that the game would be delayed slightly beyond its initial Q1 release. While strategy fans of the series might be slightly disappointed at the news, it seems they are striving to make sure the game is fully balanced. Here's the full explanation: During a regular examination of the state of the Master of Orion III project, both Infogrames and Quicksilver agreed that the game would benefit from extending its release date to the third quarter of 2002. Work continues on the game unabated to the sounds of tapping keyboards and clicking mice. The web site and discussion boards remain open and all the latest news will be posted in these locations when it becomes available. We understand that this decision might cause some consternation or concern. Don’t let it. MOO3 is a huge game that will receive a significant play balancing cycle. Bottom line: we will deliver an unparalleled gaming experience that is worthy of the Master of Orion franchise. Yours for better games, Constantine Hantzopoulos Senior Producer, Infogrames Quicksilver is making the Mac and PC versions of MOO3 simultaneously. MacSoft will publish the game for the Mac once its ready for release later in the year.
