Apple on Blender
6:00 AM | Sean Smith | Comment on this story

Apple's Games web site has posted an article examining Not a Number's free 3D creation suite, Blender Creator, and their inexpensive Blender Publisher, now available in a public beta for Mac OS X.

Here's an excerpt to whet your appetite:

Like iMovie and iDVD, which brought filmmaking and DVD authoring tools to consumers who couldnít afford (and usually didnít need) high-end applications, Blender brings videogame creation to anyone who has an idea for a game but not the capital to buy the necessary tools. And the games you create can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of their computerís operating system.
Well, not quite: Blender does not support Mac OS 9 or earlier. But if you're interested in getting started with making 3D videogames for Mac OS X, you might want to check out Apple's article and Blender's web site.
