Coldstone Goes a Bit Past Final Candidate
11:25 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

Following up on previous news that Coldstone, the joint project of Beenox and Ambrosia Sofware, had gone Final Candidate, the Coldstone progress log notes even more progress on the engine, including the all-important final tweaks based on tester feedback:

OK, I've reached the point where I don't know what to do. I've read the whole documentation three times, fixed every nitpick the testers submitted, tested the interface on Coldstone all day long, even written the readme files, and tried about 5 different ways of organizing the folders in the Coldstone package to see which one would look best. My most recent achievement: offseting the yellow bulb in the tip of the day window by 6 pixels down because I noted that the image wasn't properly Y centered in the dialog.

Time for a beer.

We're sure that people looking forward to Coldstone are heartened by the news that the yellow bulb has been tweaked to perfection. Given this fact, Coldstone looks likely to be a highly polished project.

For those who may have missed previous articles on the subject, Coldstone is a creation engine that will allow users to construct vast role-playing game worlds that can include customized interfaces and rich animations. For more details on this impending release, be sure to check out the Coldstone page at Beenox's website.
