MacMAME Status Update 8:07 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
A recent question was posed to Usenet newsgroup comp.sys.mac.games.action about the current version of MacMAME, the extremely popular arcade emulator, breaking under Mac OS X 10.1. Brad Oliver, who works on the port, gave a quick answer, saying that either he or Apple could fix the problem. Apparently he expects the next OS X update to fix the bug, though he also has a workaround in place.
Here's his reply:
It's a race of slowpokes on this one. 10.1.2 will fix it for sure, and I've got a fix for whenever I do the next release as well. Place your bets now. ;-) Since it seems unlikely we'll see any Apple updates until Macworld Expo San Francisco, we're placing our bets in Brad's corner for now. The MAME delay is understandable, though, considering his extremely tough schedule of work at Westlake Interactive. Stay tuned to IMG for any news on future updates to the emulator.
