A First Person Shooter For iPod? 9:10 AM | Cord Kruse | 6 comments
Bobbee Tec has announced work on an iPod version of Cyboid, a first person shooter currently available for Nokia's N-Gage and some other cell phones. Bobbee Tec is offering a movie of the iPod version in action, hoping to impress gamers and convince Apple to publish the FPS title. Cyboid features 3D graphics, original in-game music, multiple skill levels, and a variety of monsters, weapons, and items. What that means is that the game has been created without Apple's support – the company keeps a tight rein on what games are released for its flagship MP3 player – although Bobbee Tec says it hopes Apple will like what it sees, and agree to publish the game. The developer tells us it plans to support older iPods if the demand is out there, but in the meantime it's posted a video showing the game in action on a new model.
