Big Fish Games Interview
9:01 AM | Anthony Wang | Comment on this story

Gamecloud posted an interview with casual game developer, Big Fish Games. Big Fish Games recently acquired FunPause, a developer of casual Mac games including Faires and Atlantis. The interview discusses the origens, development, market, and future of Big Fish Games and their casual game titles.

Gamecloud - What is Big Fish's process to design and develop one of their titles?

Ken Wells - Big Fish Studios looks for holes in the market. For example, we know that people like games where they need to find stuff. So, we took this concept and started working on Mystery Case Files. It originally started out as finding objects in rooms to solve a crime. However, we felt that it needed something extra. So as a twist, we integrated a puzzle aspect to the game to reveal the criminals which allowed a game within the game and allowed the user to break up their play while continuing to have fun.
