GamersHell has posted the results of an interview with Corrine Wong, Assistant Producer with LucasArts. The focus of the session is on the currently-in-development title Star Wars: Battlefront II. A direct sequel to the original Battlefront, a boatload of new content is planned for the sequel, based largely on player feedback as well as developer plans.
The single-player portion will focus on the 501st Legion, a unit of clone troopers that bear the ominous name of "Vader's Fist."
The player fights battles through the eyes of a clone trooper, and through many missions will eventually become part of Vader's personal elite team of stormtroopers. You'll get to relive some of the greatest moments in Star Wars history. For example, you get to take out the capital ships in the space battle above Coruscant in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Some of the new features coming to SWBII include the ability to utilize Jedi, space battles, and new multiplayer game modes. New classes and AI enhancements are also in the works.
Of course, Mac gamers are still waiting to get their hands on the original Battlefront, which is currently scheduled to come out in July. No official word yet if Battlefront II will also come to our platform, but if Battlefront is successful enough, the possibility is there.
