Darwinia Interview

Adding to the coverage of Darwinia, Computer Games Magazine has posted the results of a short Q&A session with Chris Delay of Introversion Software. The interview focuses on the unique title, trying to pin down a classification and discussing various aspects of its development.

One of the development points behind Darwinina is its learning curve, which Delay points out is intentional:

We wanted to make a game that didn't ram the instructions down your throat. We did add a tutorial to the latest demo to help people get into the game, but even then we don't explain everything. Part of the fun is discovering the world.
He also notes that it took a surprising amount of time to create objects, even when working with low-poly models. On the publishing front, he adds that finding publishers in the U.S. market has been a bit of a challenge.

Future plans for Darwinia include a number of free patches which Delay notes will add content to the game. He further adds that work on a new title will start soon, though it won't be a sequel to any previous Introversion titles.
