Computer Games Magazine has posted an interview with Mark Rein of Epic Games about their upcoming next generation Unreal Engine 3. Mark covers the presentation and reception of tech demos given at last year's GDC, the importance of the PC platform along side consoles, and target dates and specifications. Mark gave some information about what to expect from Epic at this year's GDC: We'll be demoing support for seamless worlds and our fantastic UnrealKismet visual scripting system along with a ton of improvements all around the engine and toolset including some really cool physics, lighting, and particle demos. Earlier last year, programmer Ryan Gordon mentioned that he was working on the OS X port of Unreal Engine 3, so we can hope to see game based on the technology make it to the Macintosh. Stay with IMG for future information on the next generation engine.
