Macworld has issued a press release detailing the Games Pavilion that will be part up the upcoming Macworld Expo 2005. To be located on the exhibit floor, the pavilion will feature a number of game publishers and developers as well as a number of PowerMacs and iMacs running the latest titles. A tournament area will also be provided so players can go head-to-head.

Announced titles to be shown at the pavilion include Doom 3, World of Warcraft, Myst IV, Call of Duty: United Offensive, Rise of Nations, Halo, and Unreal Tournament 2004. In addition, a one-day seminar hosted by Indiespace CEO Jeannie Novack will also be held. The target audience for this seminar is professionals, and will cover a variety of topics

  • Game industry history
  • Player market demographics
  • Game platforms, genres and applications
  • Game storytelling and character development
  • Gameplay and how it intersects with story
  • Level design and how to structure the game world
  • Interface design and player control
  • Game audio and how it applies to music, sound design, and dialogue
  • Game development team roles, responsibilities and tools
  • Phases in the game development process
  • Marketing and player communities
  • Networking, entrepreneurship, and portfolio preparation
The Macworld Expo 2005 is scheduled to take place January 10-14 in San Francisco.
