Door Kickers To Bring SWAT Action To Macs This Year
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 4 comments

The game designer for Door Kickers, an upcoming SWAT team strategy game from indie developer KillHouse Games, recently emailed IMG with some details about the new title. Featuring a top down perspective Door Kickers puts the players in charge of planning routes, choosing equipment, coordinating movements, and executing the plan to save the hostages.

Whats Door Kickers like?

Analyze the situation, plan team routes, choose equipment and breach points and coordinate multiple troopers to reach the hostage room before the bad guys get to press that trigger.
Its all about timing, coordination, breaching charges, flashbangs, hostages with a gun to their head, and precision shots that save the day - but this time in a top down perspective, and you’re the mastermind.

Key Points of Door Kickers:

  • 2d, top down, easy to understand
  • Real Time with Free Pause
  • No turns, no hexes, no action points or awkward interfaces
  • Realistic but action packed
  • Non-linear levels, freeform gameplay
  • Mission editor and modability
  • Unlimited gameplay via mission and campaign generators
  • Single Player (but MP might come later)

Wending Waterbuses And Trekking Trollies At MGS
6:00 AM | IMG News | Comment on this story

Wending Waterbuses and Trekking Trolleys, new add-ons for Paradox Interactive's Cities in Motion 2 are now available to purchase at Mac Game Store. The latest content for the transit simulation game offers ten new vehicles to add to the game.

Wending Waterbuses:

Populate the waters in your city with brand new vessels! Five new waterbuses offer speed, capacity and will surely have your passengers in awe as they sail out of the depots.

Donau Trooper: It's a bit clunky looking, but don't let that deceive you! The Trooper has superb capacity and tirelessly works any route you assign it to.

Toyoka 350: The catamaran hulled Toyoka 350 might look a bit dated, but underneath the surface there's plenty of room for passengers. It might not excel in other areas, but when capacity is important, the 350 is a great choice.

Triore: This super futuristic vessel is the answer to all your needs. It's very fast and still doesn't consume a lot of energy, so it will perfectly serve those busy but eco-friendly passengers.

Stingray Peter: The Stingray Peter is a must when you have very demanding passengers who prize comfort above all else. It's very well set up for passengers, barely needs any maintenance and is also quite fast. Everything you need in the same package!

Ciapada State: While the Ciapada does consume quite a bit of fuel on short trips, it's a well-rounded vessel and is fairly fast and comfortable for passengers. A great vehicle for most routes!

Trekking Trollies:

Everything is trolleys! This pack offers five new trolley bus vehicles to adorn your streets. Whether it is speed, capacity or low maintenance that you are looking for, these are vehicles to help you out.

Ness TransLink: It's a bit slow and needs a lot of maintenance, but the TransLink has unsurpassed capacity to carry passengers. It is fairly slow, so the vehicle will do best on routes with many stops and short distances between them.

Stern-Berger Guide: The Guide is the pride of the Stern-Berger factories. While it isn't the fastest vehicle out there, it has special padded seats to make it very comfortable for passengers, and thus it tends to attract a lot of customers.

Toyoka Iris: The Iris is a well-rounded vehicle that performs well. Its speed is average, it has a nice capacity, and needs a regular amount of maintenance. It has a nice and average performance through and through.

Comet BussCar: If you need a very reliable vehicle that also has a high average speed, Comet BussCar is the one for you. Its capacity is quite low, and it isn't the most comfortable to ride, but on all other areas it performs exceptionally.

ZiA OB: The OB is a small, fast vehicle perfect for long routes to remote locations. It performs well on long distances thanks to its speed and sturdiness.

Cities in Motion II: Wending Waterbuses and Trekking Trolleys are available now for $4.99 (USD) each.

Battle Evil Possums In Sloth Patrol
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 2 comments

Will Traxler recently contacted us about the release of Sloth Patrol, a twin stick shooter which puts players in the role of an ace fighter pilot sloth named Julio who must defend his home planet from an evil possum invasion. Available for free the game requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later to play.

About Sloth Patrol

Sloth Patrol is a 100% realistic sloth simulator. The game is based on years of painstaking research by Dr Jacques Girardeau, the world's preeminent sloth behavioral expert. Dr Girardeau spent 18 months living in the trees of Central America studying a sloth clan for the purposes of designing this game. The clan of sloths slowly attacked him each day for invading its territory.

In Sloth Patrol, you play Julio Treewalker, a top fighter pilot enlisted to protect the sloth homeworld of Slothonia. Opposing you is the evil Possum Empire, which is intent on galactic domination. Possum forces are led by the evil Colonel Hisser, the sworn enemy of Julio Treewalker.

With the help of your commanding officer, Admiral Leafchewer, you will join Julio in his battles against the Possum Empire. Help Julio rid the galaxy of Possum tyranny!
