Dungeonland Released For Macs
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Paradox Interactive has announced the release of a Mac version of Dungeonland, along with updates and additions to the game. In Dungeonland players take control of a group of adventurers in their visit to a crazy and dangerous medieval theme park, where they will face off against the Evil Lord Dungeon Master.

Update Info:

Dungeonland is a cooperative action game that sends three players to a theme park just for heroic adventurers, surviving relentless hordes of friendly staff and stealing loot from all of the gift shops. In today’s update, players can now make the game impossible to win for themselves, and never again have to experience Dungeonland without the sweet release of a gruesome death. The update also includes a new Casual Mode for terrified little infants, and a Star System for heroes who complete actual challenges, plus a broad variety of updates to Dungeon Maestro Mode, in which a fourth player can take on the role of Dungeonland’s handsomest and cleverest character behind the scenes.

More About Dungeonland:

The Evil Lord Dungeon Master, tired of seeing his Grand Plan for World Domination™ constantly being thwarted by nosy, big-chinned heroes, is scheming to stop them once and for all!

With the aid of a considerable loan from the Evil Overlord Foundation™, Dungeon Master has laboriously built a nefarious theme park, tempting adventurers with a chance to explore the most dangerous and exotic places, fight the most powerful monsters and possess the most wondrous magical items.

To this most unlikely place, he gave the name… Dungeonland.

Playing as The Rogue, The Warrior or The Mage, players will loot, level up, customize their hero and acquire new skills as they work their way through waves of monsters and traps leading all the way through deadly dungeons. From deadly jungles, to lush magical gardens and a dragon's lair, players will adventure through meticulously crafted themed environments all the way up to the tower of Dungeon Master himself.

  • Cooperative/single player hack & slash action.
  • Gear – Equip your character with items found in-game or bought with gold.
  • Simultaneous local and online multiplayer
  • Multiplayer with a twist – Dungeon Master Mode.
  • Replayability - Dungeon Master AI randomizes monsters, treasures and dangers each session to create a unique experience; player choice in equipping items creates endless combinations for more variety.
  • Colorful game world – three different theme park environments to explore.
  • Dozens of enemies, items, abilities and mini-bosses.
Mac Requirements:
  • Mac OS X 10.6 or later
  • Intel Dual Core 2.6 GHz
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 4 GB HD Space

Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded Pre-Order Available
6:00 AM | IMG News | Comment on this story

Replay Games' Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded is available for pre-order now at Mac Game Store. The remake of the Leisure Suit Larry In The Land of the Lounge Lizards adult adventure game will include new HD graphics as well as expanded puzzles, locations, humor, and gameplay.

The game follows the life of Larry Laffer, a loveable loser who is a balding, dorky, double entendre-speaking, leisure suit-wearing "lady’s man". The games follow Larry as he spends much of his life trying, unsuccessfully, to seduce attractive women.

The first game in the series, Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, was first published in 1987 and helped build the Sierra On-Line dynasty. Featured in a score of original software titles since then (not even counting numerous anthologies, repackagings, and cameo appearances), the series’ namesake hero, Larry Laffer, is a bumbling, persistent everyman who just wants to be loved. Is that so wrong?

With the help of Al Lowe, Larry’s progenitor and designer of all of Larry’s classic adventures, Replay Games is remaking the landmark first game for an entire new generation (or two!). Expanded and enhanced in every detail and ready for both mobile devices and PCs, Larry is being reborn for the players who might’ve seen their parents (or grandparents!) playing Larry behind closed doors!

  • Expanded Content – Who says a remake has to just be the same game with new graphics? Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded enters the 21st century and brings with it expanded puzzles, locations, women, humor, and gameplay.
  • Modern, Hand-Drawn Graphics – Larry was great in big fat pixels 25 years ago, but this is the age of the retina display. Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded has gorgeous hi-res, hand-drawn art, and animation to show off his irresistible face and the stunning women he meets
  • It wouldn’t be Leisure Suit Larry without the humor – Larry is the ultimate Casanova wannabe, but his “flirting” rarely goes as planned. Along with rejections, fans will laugh at thousands of hilarious responses while they explore everything on screen.
Non-mobile players will hear professional voiceover actors
  • A Symphony for the Ears – Gamers will hear an all-new Vegas-style musical score from Grammy-nominated, BAFTA-winning composer Austin Wintory. The soundtrack features all authentic instrumentation and Al Lowe guest-starring on the sax!
  • Naughty, but Nice – Larry is a man on the make, and the game drips with innuendos, flirts with perversity, and oozes sexuality. But Larry has always been about comedy, and never been explicit. Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded retains that standard. There's no full-frontal nudity, no four-letter words, and no on-screen sex.
Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded is available to pre-order now for $19.99 (USD).

Matrix Games has announced Battle Academy: Rommel in Normandy, an upcoming new expansion for the WWII tactical game series, Battle Academy. The expansion covers the Normandy Campaign, putting players in control of the German forces. Rommel in Normandy is nearing completion and the developers are currently looking for beta testers to assist in the final adjustments.

June 1944: the invasion has begun.

This time, play the Normandy campaign from the other side and plasy as the Germans and their mighty Tigers through ten varied missions. Take command from the initial chaos of the airborne drops all the way through to the desperate escape from the Falaise pocket and learn the skills required to control an army stretched to its limit by years of war. Can you master some of the most modern and deadly units of WW2? Will you struggle to hold the line with battered equipment against the overwhelming mass of the Allied invasion? Anomaly 2 Reviewed
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Mac|Life has posted a new review of 11 bit studios' Anomaly 2, the sequel to Anomaly Warzone Earth. Available for Mac, Windows, and Linux PCs, the "tower offense" title features multiplayer action, a new single player campaign, and more than a million tactical combinations for squad building.

From the review:

As the third entry in the series, Anomaly 2 has firm command of the game’s basic conceits: Missions, friendly units, and enemy types are varied and work well together, and the large maps are flexible enough to support multiple play styles. For example, enemy Chargers are vulnerable to missile attacks, and if your squad isn't equipped to handle them, you can call in new units on the fly or avoid the fight altogether by changing the convoy's route.

With new waves of enemies spawning and objectives changing mid-battle, playing Anomaly 2 often feels like putting out multiple fires at once. Quick hands and good timing are often as important as critical thinking and sound tactics, and Anomaly 2 addresses our biggest gripe about its forebears: Lieutenant Simon Lynx has never been easier to control.
