Telepath Tactics Status Update, New Demo, New Video
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Sinister Design has posted a new blog article about development on Telepath Tactics, revealing information about a variety of new features as well as an updated demo and a new video. Set in the world of the Telepath RPG universe, the turn-based multiplayer tactics game will feature support for up to six players in hotseat mode, a new art style, redesigned UI, and a new combat engine.

Here are a handful of updates listed in the post:

Telepath Tactics now supports branching, scripted dialog: which means the game now also supports branching campaigns.

By far the biggest undertaking this past month has been improving enemy AI in Telepath Tactics. There are already a number of noticeable upgradesĖamong them:

  • AI characters now grab item sacks lying within reach, then continue their turns;
  • AI characters now intelligently use items sitting in their inventory;
  • AI characters with non-turn-ending attacks now continue moving after attacking; and
  • badly injured AI characters now flee in the direction of a friendly healer if they can reach one.
Iíve implemented Rally, a feature that simultaneously auto-moves all of your characters toward a point on the battlefield that you specify. (This massively speeds up turns where youíre too far away to engage with any enemy units!)

6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

A recent post on the Game Agent Blog offers a rundown of the pop culture references when playing Borderlands 2. The sequel continues the series trademark blending of first person shooter and role playing game elements with action packed gameplay and zany humor.

Most great artists find some way to tip their hat to those that came before them and the things that inspired them along the way. Call it pop culture references or homage; itís a great treat for those that catch it. For all those pop culture junkies, Borderlands 2 has more pop culture references tucked into it than a whole season of Family Guy. Some instances are subtler than others, and some are perhaps coincidence but weíd like to think they arenít, because they bring us geeky glee. These are but a taste of all the clever nods that await you in the game.

WARNING: These probably contain spoilers. If you donít want anything ruined or want to the joy of discovery for yourself, donít read any further.

The Game Agent Blog has help for those looking to expand their gaming experience with Aspyr Media's RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum. The new blog post offers a collection of sites filled with fan made creations for the ride building sim.

With the re-release of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum on the Mac App Store thereís been renewed interest in this classic game around the Internet. One of the best aspects of the game was Atariís official Ride Exchange, which was a one-stop shop for sharing and downloading new user-created content for your game. This way you could experience the thrilling rides created by friends and strangers alike. Unfortunately, this official forum for sharing new content is now closed.

But wait, donít cry, fry your eyes RollerCoaster enthusiasts! GameAgent has scoured the web to find several fan-created sites that allow users of this game to continue to share their creations with other thrill seekers. However, it must be emphasized that utilizing these resources might be different for some of users relatively new to game mods or usually just rely on content from the Mac App Store. These fan-made additions require a little extra leg work to install and use properly. This means digging into the files on your computer and adding .zip files and other file types into subfolders within the RCT3 game folder.
