Drox Operative: Three New Races Unveiled 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Soldak Entertainment has published more new information about features in the upcoming Drox Operative starship action RPG. The update this time covers the Schism, the Lasher, and the Acanth - three more of the thirteen races players will encounter during their travels in the game. Drox Operative will put players in the role of an elite starship captain and will feature warring alien races, fierce space battles, a dynamic and evolving galaxy, and co-op multiplayer. In the galaxy where Drox Operative takes place there are 13 different races. Ten of these races are fairly diplomatic. They will at least pretend to listen before they try to eradicate the other races on the way to galactic domination. The other three? They are pretty much hostile to all life for one reason or another. The following may contain small spoilers. Head over to the page below to read more.

The Elder Scrolls Online Previewed 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
PC Gamer recently posted a new preview of The Elder Scrolls Online. In development at ZeniMax Online Studios for Mac and Windows PCs, the MMO will be the first Elder Scrolls game to allow gamers to explore the world of the fantasy series with others. The Elder Scrolls Online will be third-person with action bar combat. As such, it differs substantially from the recent games in the series. You’re limited to a certain number of skills at any given time, a system that sounds similar to Diablo 3 or Guild Wars 2 – both promising models. Zenimax Online’s focus is reportedly to make each ability important and fun to use in its own right. Also similar to Guild Wars 2, it’ll be possible for players to casually group simply by pitching in and helping each other in the wild – you won’t need to ask for an invite to get kill credit. Despite the MMO trappings, familiar elements from the single player Elder Scrolls games will be present. These include guilds, including the Mages Guild, and birthsigns. Skyrim allows players to switch birthsigns on the fly, and we don’t yet know whether The Elder Scrolls Online will go with this system or opt for the previous, chosen-at-character-creation model for assigning bonuses. A Peek At Eschalon: Book III's Launch Screen 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 4 comments
Basilisk Games recently released a screenshot for the company's upcoming Eschalon: Book III. The third title in the old school fantasy RPG series is currently in development and will complete the epic saga. The new screenshot features a glimpse of the game's start menu, offered as proof that the game is still in progress. B3 is definitely not vaporware. I'm actually playing it now. See...(Full-sized screen capture- important stuff blurred out, except for today's date. Yes, it lives.) Repeat: not vaporware, but the project has been subjected to substantial delays in 2011 and early 2012. But we are moving forward quite nicely now. Starting the summer crunch session after Memorial Day. Learn more about Basilisk Games at the links below.
