May 6th will mark the ninth anniversary of CCP Games's release of EVE Online. To celebrate the sci-fi MMO's birthday the company will be offering players a choice of gifts starting on May 4th and continuing until June 4th.

In much the same way as the 2011 Holiday Gift, we’ll be giving you a choice beginning May 4th, a couple days ahead of the May 6th 9-year-birthday of EVE Online.

Here’s all the options. In their own special way, they each celebrate changes that just came in the Escalation to Inferno patch.

IGN recently posted a sneak peek video of the upcoming second episode in Telltale Games' five part The Walking Dead saga. Based on the graphic novel by Robert Kirkman, the episodic survival adventure game gives players the difficult task of surviving in a world overrun by zombies.

The Walking Dead is a five-part game series set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic book series. Play as Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who has been given a second chance at life in a world devastated by the undead. With corpses returning to life and survivors stopping at nothing to maintain their own safety, protecting an orphaned girl named Clementine may offer him redemption in a world gone to hell.

In the days leading up to the May 15 release of Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo III, the company has been releasing a variety of information about the action RPG sequel. This time Blizzard has unveiled a new trailer showcasing the Wizard class, information about Diablo III's auction house, and details about usiing Global Play to play on servers in other regions.

Wizard Class:

Finally, our in-depth look at each of the five heroes of Diablo III comes to a brilliant conclusion with the wizard. As we approach the worldwide release of Diablo III on May 15, we've featured every hero on our Diablo III launch site, and this week, you can take in a heap of information about these veritable thunderstorms of lethal power.

Rumors from Caldeum detail the events surrounding a certain brash student of the sorcerous arts—a promising, even brilliant, pupil, but one whose unbridled ambitions have led to violence and disorder in the respected schools of that august city. This young woman was trained by some of the most skilled mages in the world, but rather than follow their guidance, she chose to display an uncooperative spirit, constantly pushing past their restrictions in pursuit of knowledge that they claimed she was not prepared for.

Auction House:

The gold-based auction house opens its doors worldwide on May 15 with the launch of Diablo III, and we plan to bring the real-money auction house online approximately one week after that. This is a new service that includes lots of complex elements, so we are going to take a little extra time to ensure the game gets off to a good start before we flip the switch and open the real-money auction house for business.

Global Play:

Diablo III's global game servers are grouped into three distinct game regions:

• The Americas - For players in the US, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.
  
• Europe - For players in the European Union, Eastern Europe, Russia, Africa, and Middle Eastern countries such as Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
  
• Asia - For players in South Korea and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

In general, players will create characters and play in their "home" region, which is determined by where they live (specifically, the country of residence registered to their Battle.net account). Global Play gives players the ability to switch to any of the other game regions via the in-game options menu, either before or after they log in to the game.

StrategyCore has posted a new preview of Positech Games upcoming Gratuitous Tank Battles. The new title is described as a hybrid of real time strategy and tower defense, featuring online elements, customizable units, and a built-in map editor for custom creations.

The attacking forces enter the map through a single or multiple known locations, aiming to reach the exit points, and they will make their way through using the specified routes which can run parallel to each other or branch in a multitude of ways, creating interesting quandaries and some congenial firing arc overlaps here and there.

To make matters even more sporting there are sometimes adverse lighting conditions to take into account, for instance, in night-time missions, where, though you may know the routes, you may very well not see the sneaky enemies beyond range of your spotlights - unless, of course, you toggle on nightvision!

Fortunately you can speed up, slow down or pause the action at will, to move things along faster towards your deadly meat-grinders or to better keep pace with tricky situations that can let a dastardly foe slip through.
