BioShock 2 Released
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 32 comments

Feral Interactive has released the Mac version of BioShock 2, the genetically enhanced role-playing shooter. Developed by 2K Marin, 2K Australia, 2K China and Digital Extremes, and published by 2K Games for games consoles and PC, BioShock 2 is the sequel to BioShock.

Welcome back to Rapture. Paradise reborn.

Deep within the ruined undersea city of Rapture, your beloved Little Sister, Eleanor, awaits your return. As her Big Daddy, you protected her from a world of insanely selfish adults, now you must shield her again from those who demand that everything must be shared.

Ten years after the events of BioShock, Rapture has fallen under the control of a collectivist cult who plan to transform Eleanor into a genetically-engineered messiah, who will put an end to individuality forever. To save her, you must deploy a unique combination of shooting, role-play and stealth as you rampage through Rapture’s leaking halls to confront her captors.

Whether you choose to forgive those who threaten Eleanor or wreak vengeance upon them, remember, she is always watching and will follow your example.

Features:

  • Embark on an intense journey through one of the most disturbing fictional worlds ever created in this hauntingly imaginative sequel to BioShock.
  • Become the Big Daddy and unleash the raw power of Rapture’s most feared inhabitant against deadly new enemies such as Brute Splicers and the vengeful Big Sisters.

  • Explore the sea bed as a Big Daddy and view Rapture’s breathtaking architecture from the outside.
  • Engage in all-out civil war online! BioShock 2 contains a completely separate multiplayer game set during the Fall of Rapture.

Zain Effendi Composing Soundtrack For Guns Of Icarus Online
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Muse Games has announced that award-winning composer Zain Effendi will be working on the music for Guns of Icarus Online, the company's upcoming post-apocalyptic airship combat game. Before starting his own studio Effendi worked with Hans Zimmer's team at Remote Control Productions on the scores of films such as Pirates of the Caribean 3, Kung Fu Panda, and The Dark Knight.

“We are excited to be collaborating with Zain to set the mood for high-tension combat, stealth, and adventure in the desolate wastes. With music being a vital part of the game experience, we are fortunate to have Zain’s help to create something epic and exciting,” says Muse Games CEO Howard Tsao.

Three hundred years ago was the beginning of the war, the Great War that never really ended. Cities were converted to war machines or rubble, citizens to soldiers or refugees, and the war raged until it consumed the world and turned the fertile plains to dust. Only when nations ceased to exist did they cease to send out armies and fleets to do battle, leaving those who remained, struggling not for dominance now but for survival, to regroup and rebuild among the ruins of the modern age. Where scattered survivors met they sometimes clashed, their skirmishes spasmodically reenacting the great wars in miniature, and they sometimes found a common interest and banded together, sheltering in makeshift camps. The largest of the camps became towns, and the largest of the towns became burgeoning cities, as slowly, life returned to the once verdant wastes. When a man named Gabriel built the Icarus, the first airship, and sailed across the Burren, connecting the isolated towns, some said it was an atrocity; some said it was the future; and some said it would change everything. They were all right. Soon, others followed in his footsteps and built new airships, and a new age of commerce, and conflict, began. Humanity once again has the chance to flourish, or to plunge once more into the greed and violence that already brought it to the edge of extinction.

Welcome to Guns of Icarus Online, the unique co-operative airship combat game mixing together firstperson shooter action with team-based strategy. Up to four people will crew a ship, taking on one of the key roles of Captain, Gunner, or Engineer, and battling it out against other ships above the postapocalyptic waste. In Guns of Icarus Online it will take teamwork and tactics to dominate the skies.

Auditorium Duet Reaches Kickstarter Target
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Cipher Prime has announced that its Kickstarter campaign to fund the follow up to Auditorium has been successful, and work on Auditorium Duet can now begin. As in the original game, players will bend rivers of light and color through puzzles to create music, but this time the focus will be on cooperative play. A single player mode will also be available.

There are not enough exclamation points in the world for us to give to you.

This was crazy and our fingers are tired from hitting the refresh button all night.

We're going to make Auditorium Duet for you, and it will be awesome, and we truly, truly, truly owe everything to you guys. Thank you to all of our long-time fans and people who've only just heard of us (we'll convert you into long-time fans soon enough!).

We're going to lay our heads down and utterly fail to go to sleep, but when it finally happens we'll be dreaming about Duet!

In Auditorium Duet, players will team up with friends for the first time.  To solve puzzles, they will need to coordinate with a partner to guide the luminous motes to their proper destinations. Auditorium Duet will be an intense experience where participants must lean on each other’s intuition and skills to create a vividly pulsing colorscape.  Auditorium Duet will also include a single player mode which goes above and beyond the first Auditorium.

Check out the link to learn more.
