6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Iceberg Interactive and Camel 101 have announced a deal to publish Gemini Wars for Mac and Windows PC to gamers worldwide. The sci-fi strategy game, currently in development and scheduled for a first quarter release in 2012, puts players in the role of a fleet commander engaged in an "epic war across the stars."

“As fans of strategy games we are more than delighted to bring Gemini Wars to retail and online stores. In the role of an independent game studio, Camel 101 did an excellent job on development so far and we are confident that “Gemini Wars” will set a new benchmark for the space real-time strategy genre in 2012,” said Raymond Snippe, Business Development Director at Iceberg Interactive,

“We are very happy to work with an experienced and skilled team like Iceberg Interactive. These guys have an extensive knowledge about the strategy games market, and it’s been really cool to cooperate with them. With Iceberg’s help, Gemini Wars will surely have the success it deserves,” said Bruno Cesteiro Co-Owner & Producer Camel 101.

About Gemini Wars:
Decades have passed since war erupted between the United Space Federation and the Alliance of Free Worlds. A bloody conflict that seemed to have reached a stalemate is now about to change, when a third faction suddenly appears. Take control of a fleet commander returned from exile, rise through the ranks of the United Space Federation forces and join an epic war across the stars.
Start with a small group of frigates, and climb your way to controlling battleships, carriers and planetary bases, in huge space battles and boarding actions. Build space stations and orbital facilities to fortify your position, build your fleet, extract minerals and research upgrades. Execute boarding actions using marine special forces, and bombard your enemies with orbital long range cannons.
Join the interstellar conflict in the Gemini Sector in Q1 2012.

Key Features:

  • 3 unique factions, with different units and strategies.
  • Epic single player campaign.
  • Ability to control fleets of starships, space stations and planets.
  • Research tree leading to powerful units and upgrades.
  • Cinematic battle camera.
  • Multiplayer action providing endless re-playability.
  • Unique gameplay providing a refreshing twist to the RTS genre.

Diablo III: Shared Stash, Nephalem Cube, Cauldron of Jordan
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Blizzard Entertainment recently released some new information about the upcoming action RPG sequel, Diablo III. This time the company revealed details about the shared stash feature, and the Nephalem Cube and Cauldron of Jordan items obtained during some of the game's quests.

Shared Inventory
In addition to a character's personal inventory, players in Diablo III will also have access to a shared stash, a new storage option which can be used by all characters on a Diablo III account. Accessible from each major town at the beginning of every act, the shared stash will give you an unprecedented amount of storage space, more flexibility when it comes to inventory management, and -- perhaps most importantly -- the ability to share the items you collect (or create) with whichever of your characters need them most.

While players will start out with only a single tab in their shared stash with a limited number of slots, upgrades in the form of additional slots and tabs can be purchased for gold by any character you create. You'll be able to buy up to 5 tabs, each containing 70 slots of space, for a total of 350 slots of shared storage! Once bought, the upgraded storage space will be available to every character on your Diablo III account.

  • Transfers & Contracts – significant changes to the transfer and contract systems, including loyalty bonuses, better implementation of amateur and youth contracts, an improved transfer centre and the ability to lock areas of the contract negotiation when you aren't prepared to budge. This helps you to manage your budgets and gives you flexibility in what you offer money hungry players, or agents, as incentives.

There are 6 different tones to choose from with specific comments per tone.
  • Intelligent Interface – a new adaptive layout system, which means the higher your screen resolution, the more info is easily at your fingertips. The new interface also contains new filters, customisable columns, a new tactics screen, and lots of new overview screens.
  • Brand New Tutorial – standing separate from the main game, a mode to help new players find their way around the game easily, whilst also offering tips to experienced managers on how to get the most out of the game, as well as a new in-game “how to” system.
