WoW: Conquering The Rage Of The Firelands 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Ten Ton Hammer recently posted an interview with Blizzard Entertainment's Greg Street. The Lead Systems Designer for World of Warcraft discussed the content in the Rage of the Firelands patch including the new Dungeon Journal, his favorite boss battle, and increasing the randomness of daily quests. So tell us about the Dungeon Journal.GS: Well it was an amazing amount of work too. Originally we were going to just do the Firelands raid and then we thought we really should go back and do the two troll dungeons. Then we’re like, well we nerfed the content like Blackwing Descent and Bastion of Twilight in the previous raid tier for 4.2 so maybe we should explain those fights too and finally we just decided to do all of Cataclysm. It was a ton of work but we just decided let’s just explain every fight and so that’s what we did. Are you planning to eventually include older dungeons in the Journal? GS: Yeah, we wouldn’t have done it if we couldn’t commit to eventually doing all of the content. I would say the next thing up would be to do the leveled up dungeons. There’s not a ton of demand for the other really complicated level 60 and 70 raids. The players that do that tend to solo it anyway. Visit the page linked below for the full Q&A.

Two Worlds II: Pirates Of The Flying Fortress Previewed 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 3 comments
GamesRadar has released a new preview of TopWare's upcoming Pirates of The Flying Fortress, a new expansion scheduled to be released later this year for Two Worlds II. The fantasy RPG add-on will take players into the "gloomy pirate world" and will feature thunder and rain storms, new weapons, impact oriented horse armor, and all new boss encounters. And they’ve focused upon seafaring, as you might guess from the whole pirates thing in the title. You’ll have a much greater focus on sailing in your little dingy, and pirates will be everywhere. We didn’t get to see a ton of the content, but what we saw was pretty great. The ocean at sunset as we sailed across was legitimately beautiful, and the massive pirate ships are impressive. We also got to see a brief glimpse of an undead/graveyard level which looks similarly cool. Dueling with skeleton warriors looked like a blast, and we’re told there’s even an entire undead city below the ground complete with zombie strippers. Check out the page below to read more.
