World Of Warcraft Patch 4.2 Trailer Unveiled
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Blizzard Entertainment has posted a new trailer showcasing the upcoming "Rage of the Firelands" 4.2 patch for its popular MMO, World of Warcraft. The four minute trailer reveals a glimpse of the storyline players will get the chance to experience once the patch is released.

Across the breadth of Azeroth, the Horde and the Alliance have dealt crushing blows to Deathwing's elemental minions and fanatic Twilight's Hammer cultists. Through it all, the Earthen Ring has never wavered from its tireless charge, holding Azeroth itself together amid the tidal fury and errant magical energies that churn at the Maelstrom. Yet as the elements continue their chaotic upheaval, it seems that the noble shamanic order might finally be on the verge of breaking beneath the great weight that rests on its shoulders. Even Thrall, for all of his wisdom and skill, has grown aggravated by his failure to effectively communicate with Azeroth's elements. Recently, his calls were acknowledged, but the malevolent entity that responded has only intensified Thrall's fears and doubts....

Jeff Vogel Discusses Avadon Success, Avernum Remake
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story has posted a new interview with veteran indie RPG developer and Spiderweb Software founder, Jeff Vogel. In the interview the developer discussed a variety of topics including the success of Avadon: The Black Fortress, the strength of the turn-based genre, and specifics about the upcoming Avernum remake.

What changes are you planning to make to Avernum 1 in the remake? Will there be substantial changes to the dialog, quests and/or in-game systems, or is it mostly going to be a graphics and interface overhaul?

Everything. We are spending months and doing major changes. To the world, to the storyline, to the game system, to the interface. It will be a major revamp. We aren’t half-assing it, and we hope to provide screenshots and details soon.

However, I want to make one thing very clear. It will still be Avernum. It will have the same story and characters and towns. There is still an outdoors that is huge but separate from the cities. I want to make sure that the things people love about the series are still there.
