Feral Interactive has announced the release of Puzzler World for Macs. The game offers more than 500 challenges spanning a collection of 14 different puzzle types, with favorites such as Wordsearch, Sudoku and Crossword, new formats such as Fitword, Link-A-Pix and Silhouette, as well as bonus games including Hangman and Jigsaw.
“Puzzler World gives both fanatics and casual gamers an impressive array of fun and entertaining brainteasers,” said David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive. “It’s an addictive, value-priced diversion for a few minutes or a few hours.”Puzzler World is now available for $19.99. Players are able to choose from two distinct game modes: Challenge, a series of increasingly mind-bending puzzles giving the chance to unlock bonus games, or Quickplay, for fast casual puzzling when there’s a few minutes to spare. Varying levels of difficulty and a hint token system mean that Puzzler World will challenge and tease, but only be as frustrating as you want it to be!
Minimum system requirements call for any Intel-based Mac with at least 512MB RAM, 100MB hard drive space, 128MB or better graphics card, DVD drive, and Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later.

IMG Reviews Pinball Yeah!

Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Interplay's Pinball Yeah!. The pinball sim features four unique tables, each with its own theme, sound, and gameplay.
Here's an excerpt from the review:
The graphics for all these layouts are very good. They offer some interesting details like worn table tops as mentioned above. The sound effects are also very well done. Each game has its sound effects and music. One particular nice detail is that the dynamic range and depth of the audio for the older looking Code Runners layout is flat and very basic, while the more modern A.i. has considerably more depth and dynamics.Check out the full article at the link below

Inside Mac Games Interviews Wolfire Games' John Graham

Inside Mac Games has posted a new interview with Wolfire Games' John Graham. The indie developer discussed Overgrowth, the sequel to Lugaru, as well as the success of the Humble Indie Bundles and the company's other projects.
Here's a sample from the interview:
JC: Wolfire is not only developing Overgrowth, but also the Phoenix game engine. What can you tell us about this dual process? How do you balance working on the game and working on the engine?Check out the page below to read the full article
Wolfire Games Q&A
JG: Overgrowth is Wolfire's focus at the moment, so we are mainly building the Phoenix Engine to support ninja rabbit combat. We've gotten numerous requests from 3rd parties looking to license the engine for their own projects but right now don't have time to offer support for 3rd parties while making our own game.
However, we are designing Overgrowth to be highly moddable. We have an exposed scripting layer for the gameplay and an integrated map editor. We've already seen fans make their own custom levels sometimes even with their own custom assets.
