Feral Interactive Digital Titles Available From Macgamestore
6:00 AM | IMG News | 17 comments

Feral Interactive has been hard at work converting their games to a digital download friendly format and Macgamestore has several of the first conversions available now for eager gaming fans. Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, Rome: Total War Gold Edition, and separate versions of Borderlands and its four add-on packs are now available for download and purchase. More digital Feral titles, including Bioshock, will be available in the coming weeks.

Borderlands Game of the Year Edition:
Bloodthirsty bandits. Vicious monsters. Tons of loot. Lock, Load and face the madness. Gearbox Software's acclaimed sci-fi hit comes to the Mac complete with all four add-on packs. Borderlands is a unique hybrid of first person shooter and role-playing game with a super sharp visual style and a compelling 4 player co-op mode.

Planet Pandora is a sparsely populated wasteland where the rule of law gets rewritten daily in the smoke of the last gun battle. Civilization consists of small outposts on the fringe of human influence, in an area called the Borderlands. Pandora's one tourist attraction is a mythical Vault supposedly packed with fantastic riches.

Fortune hunters, corrupt corporate mercenaries and lowlife hoodlums roam the landscape, searching under every grain of sand for the treasure. Since most intelligent life on Pandora has the occupation of Vault Hunter, society has gone to hell - making the outposts and outback areas more than just a little dangerous.

Rome Total War Gold Edition:
Two world dominating games in one! Uniting multi-award winning Rome: Total War and its official expansion pack, Barbarian invasion, you must guide history’s greatest armies to their victories in a game of epic real-time warfare, empire building, politics and treachery.

Play as one of three great Roman families, whose thirst for power will stop at nothing. This the world of Hannibal, Julius Caesar, Cleopatra and a thousand others. This is a world of soldiers, gladiators, tyrants, monsters and fools. It’s a rich, exciting world, awaiting a conqueror – you! You must use military genius to build an empire that stretches across Europe and Africa. Finally march on Rome to seize control of the greatest empire in the world. Then in Barbarian invasion either defend it or lead a Barbarian horde and bring the once mighty empire to its knees.

The Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition costs $49.95, while the standard edition costs $39.95. An add-on pack for the standard edition, featuring four add-on packs, costs $24.95. Rome: Total War Gold Edition is available for $29.95.

Inside Mac Games Holiday Q&A: Soldak Entertainment
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

In the fifth and final installment of IMG's holiday interview series Jon Carr has interviewed Soldak Entertainment's Steven Peeler. The indie dev discussed the upcoming Demon War expansion for Din's Curse, his time at Ritual Entertainment, and what inspired him to become an independent developer.

A snippet from the interview:

Jon Carr: You are currently working on an expansion for Din's Curse titled Demon War. What are some new features or options that fans and newcomers should be excited about?

Steven Peeler: Well one of the big ones is that NPCs are much more involved in the town. They now have moods of sorts, money, and relationships with others. These things can go well and make them very happy and generous to you and others. This can lead them to giving you gifts, solving quests for the town, and other similar things. On the other hand, the pressure might get the best of them and they might resort to selling town secrets to the Orcs, steal from their neighbors, try to drink their problems away, or even start fights.

Other than the new NPC stuff the expansion expands on the many things that makes Din’s Curse unique in the first place. We have new world changing quests like Anti-Magic machines, monsters blocking the gate system, traitors betraying the town, and barbarian raids. We have new world modifiers like Drunk Town, Tornados, War Zone, and Thieves Den. We have new world setup options like Invasion Mode, Raging Hordes, and world size. We have also added the new Demon Hunter class which, thanks to our hybrid class system, brings us up to 196 total class combinations.
