IMG Reviews Brainpipe 7:52 AM | Marcus Albers | Comment on this story
Inside Mac Games has posted a review of the latest game from Digital Eel, Brainpipe: A Plunge to Unhumanity. Brainpipe is a psychedelic ride through you psyche as you attempt to collect points and avoid obstacles. Here's and excerpt from the review: Your obstacles are glowing green poles jutting out from walls, pink spheres that circle the tube you’re in, and yellow grids that look not unlike your reticule. There are yellowish energy worms and more, all abstracted in a sort of Tron or cyberpunk fashion. As you go, you collect glowing glyphs which serve some purpose that I’m not too clear on. I assume they give you points (your score is earned simply by advancing through the tunnels), but that’s just a theory. In each level there is a larger glyph that, when obtained, will inform you that you have achieved some state of consciousness, such as confusion. Follow the link below to read the full review.

Kivi's Underworld: New Monsters Revealed 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Soldak Entertainment has added three new entries to the bestiary for Kivi's Underworld, the company's upcoming action RPG title. Described as a casual hack and slash game, Kivi allows players to adventure as one of 20 character classes against a variety of dangerous foes. The bestiary expands with entries for the Scavenger, Orc Warrior, and Orc Shaman. Orc Warrior When a necromancer tried to raise elves that weren’t quiet dead using a powerful and tricky ring, the magic was perverted. Instead of elven zombies, the necromancer ended up with orcs. They ripped the necromancer to pieces before drifting east to the mountains. Orcs have violent and unpredictable temperaments, and their success in war usually relies on overwhelming the enemy. They are generally too disorganized to cause trouble outside of their usual territories. Read more about the game's monsters at the page linked below.
